THE BEYOND BURGER WINS GOOD HOUSEKEEPING’S SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION AWARD

October 18, 2021

A burger that’s good for the planet and good for you! The newest iteration of the Beyond Burger has been crowned a winner of Good Housekeeping's 2021 Sustainable Innovation Awards, which recognizes brands and products that are making true strides in sustainable innovation.

The Good Housekeeping Institute’s trusted team of scientists, engineers and product experts test thousands of products each year to determine the best options for both people and planet. This year, the Beyond Burger was the only plant-based meat brand to be named a winner within the Product-based Sustainability Initiative category.

Made from simple, plant-based ingredients with 20g of non-GMO plant protein per serving, the new Beyond Burger has proven environmental benefits. The University of Michigan’s 2018 LCA showed that the original Beyond Burger, compared to producing a ¼ lb. standard U.S. 80/20 beef burger, has 99% less impact on water scarcity, 93% less impact on land use, requires 46% less energy and generates 90% fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
