BEYOND MEAT® BRINGS BEYOND TENDERS TO THE GERMAN GASTRONOMY

For the first time, restaurants can order Beyond Tenders, the award-winning, chicken-style tenders in Germany

Munich, 13 October 2022 - Beyond Meat® (NASDAQ: BYND), a leader in plant-based meat, is bringing its award-winning Beyond Tenders Chicken-Style to the German market.  The delicious, plant-based Beyond Tenders are crispy on the outside thanks to their breading, and incredibly tender and juicy on the inside. They can be prepared quickly and easily and are suitable as a main course as well as a snack. 

The demand for plant-based meat is increasing throughout Germany. According to a survey by the think tank Good Food Institute, half of Germans have reduced their animal meat consumption over the last five years with 41% of Germans eating plant-based meat on a monthly basis. Twenty-five percent of Germans surveyed said they plan to increase their plant-based meat consumption in the coming years.

The Beyond Tenders are just right for this: comparable to animal chicken, yet plant-based. We've called them chicken-style tenders, so our customers know what to expect and recognize their favourite plant-based meat. The Beyond Tenders are larger than standard market "nuggets" and can be used in a variety of ways, such as in salads and sandwiches, but also fried and in a flying buffet. 

Like all Beyond Meat products, Beyond Tenders are designed to be similar to their animal counterparts in taste, appearance and consistency. Using innovative processes, Beyond Tenders are made from high-quality plant-based ingredients such as fava bean and pea protein, and contain no cholesterol. Instead, with 14 grams of protein per serving, they are packed with protein.

Beyond Tenders complements the Beyond Meat portfolio, which in Germany already includes Beyond Burger®, Beyond Sausage®, Beyond Mince® and Beyond Meatballs®. Restaurateurs can order the new Beyond Tenders immediately from wholesalers.

Guests and media representatives will have the opportunity to try Beyond Tenders at this year's finale of "Chef of the Year" on 17 October in Bonn. Beyond Meat will be presenting itself at this top-class gastronomic event as a sponsor with its own stand.
