
5 Recipes for National Cheeseburger Day

Juicy, melty, and stacked with flavor—nothing says indulgence quite like a Beyond cheeseburger! This National Cheeseburger Day, we’re celebrating with 5 mouthwatering recipes featuring Beyond Meat that are anything but basic.
BEYOND GRILLED ONION SMASH BURGER
SERVINGS: 4 burgers
PREP TIME: 5 minutes
COOK TIME: 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
2 packages Beyond Burgers
4 burger buns
4 slices of plant-based cheese
2 onions, sliced
1 tomato, sliced
Shredded romaine lettuce
Dill pickle chips
Burger Sauce:
⅓ cup plant-based mayo
1 tbsp mustard
1 tbsp ketchup
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp chopped dill pickles
PREPARATION:
1. Preheat the flat top griddle to medium-high heat. Lightly coat with oil. Add onion slices and let onions grill for 2-3 minutes.
2. Add Beyond Burgers on top of sauteed onion slices. Use a burger press and ‘smash’ each patty into the onion slices.
3. Prepare plant-based burger sauce by mixing all ingredients together. Set aside.
4. Cook each burger for about four minutes before gently flipping, making sure to keep onions with the burger. Cook for about 4 minutes on the other side and gently flip again.
5. Add a slice of plant-based cheese, adding a bit of water (no more than 1 tsp) around the burger and covering to let steam until cheese is melted. If desired, toast each bun on the griddle for a few minutes. Lower heat on the griddle to keep all ingredients warm.
6. Assemble the smash burger, starting with coating the toasted buns with the burger sauce. Add 3-4 dill pickle chips to the bottom bun, along with sliced tomato and shredded lettuce. Top with the Beyond onion smash burger and cover with the top bun.
BEYOND JALAPEÑO POPPER BURGER
SERVINGS: 1
PREP TIME: 5 minutes
COOK TIME: 10-15 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
1 pack of Beyond Burgers (two burgers)
1-2 jalapeños, sliced thin (about 12 thin slices needed)
2 slices of plant-based cheese of choice
¼ cup of japeño flavored kettle cooked chips (or other potato chips of choice)
One burger bun of choice
1-2 tbsp fig jam or other similar sweet jam
Jalapeño Popper Cream Cheese Spread
2 tbsp plant-based cream cheese
1 tbsp plant-based sour cream
1 tsp fresh dill, finely minced
1 tsp cilantro, finely minced
1 tsp parsley, finely minced
1 tsp finely diced jalapeño
1 tbsp plant-based cheese shreds
PREPARATION:
1. To make the jalapeño popper cream cheese spread, mix together all ingredients from plant-based cream cheese to plant-based cheese shreds, and set aside.
2. Preheat your griddle or flattop grill to medium-high heat and add two piles of 2-3 jalapeño slices each. Add each burger patty to the jalapeños, and use a burger smasher or large pot to gently smash each burger patty down into the jalapeño slices.
3. Cook each burger for about four minutes before gently flipping, making sure to keep the jalapeños with the burger. Cook for about 4 minutes on the other side and gently flip again.
4. Add a slice of plant-based cheese along with an additional 2-3 jalapeño slices on top of each patty, adding a bit of water (no more than 1 tsp) around the burgers and covering to let steam until cheese is melted. If desired, toast the bun on the griddle for a few minutes.
5. Assemble the smash burger, starting with coating the toasted bun with the jalapeño popper cream cheese spread, followed by layering the two burgers, adding a heap of jalapeño chips, and spreading fig jam on the top bun. Cut in half for easy eating and enjoy!
BEYOND GARLIC BREAD BURGER
SERVINGS: 2 burgers
PREP TIME: 25 mins
COOK TIME: 20 mins
INGREDIENTS:
Garlic Bread Buns:
2 hamburger buns
2 tbsp plant-based butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Pinch of salt & black pepper
Patties:
4 Beyond Burger patties
Salt & pepper or burger seasoning, to taste
2 slices plant-based cheese
Shredded lettuce
Secret Sauce:
¼ cup plant-based mayo
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp yellow mustard
2 tsp pickle relish
¼ tsp paprika
2 tbsp finely chopped white onion
PREPARATION:
Garlic Bread Buns:
1. In a small bowl, mix nondairy butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper until combined.
2. Spread mixture evenly over the cut sides of each bun.
3. Place buns cut-side down in a skillet over medium-high heat, pressing gently with a spatula or burger press.
4. Toast 3–5 minutes per side, until golden brown and fragrant. Set aside.
Patties:
1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Season Beyond Burger patties with salt and pepper, then press gently with a spatula or burger press. Cook 3–4 minutes per side until browned.
3. Add a slice of nondairy cheese to one patty, cover briefly to melt, then stack a plain patty on top of the cheesy patty to form a double burger. Repeat for the second burger.
Sauce:
1. In a small bowl, whisk together mayo, ketchup, mustard, relish, paprika, and onion until smooth.
Assemble the Burger:
1. Layer shredded lettuce on the bottom garlic bun.
2. Place the stacked Beyond patties on top.
3. Spread sauce onto the top bun.
4. Close the burger with the sauced garlic bun.
5. Serve warm with extra sauce on the side.
BEYOND SMASH BURGER TACOS
SERVINGS: 3 (Yields 6–8 mini tacos)
PREP TIME: 15 mins
COOK TIME: 10 mins
INGREDIENTS:
Tacos:
1 pack (12 oz) Beyond Beef Plant-Based Ground
6–8 mini tortillas
6–8 slices plant-based cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded lettuce
½ cup diced onion
½ cup pickle chips
1 tbsp sesame seeds
Burger Sauce:
½ cup plant-based mayo
1 tbsp yellow mustard
2 tbsp sweet relish
1 tsp white vinegar
½ tsp paprika
PREPARATIONS:
Make the Burger Sauce:
1. In a bowl, combine mayo, mustard, relish, vinegar, diced onion, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and pepper. Stir until well combined and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Shape and Cook the Tacos:
1. Heat a skillet over high heat and add a small amount of oil.
2. Take 2–3 tablespoons of Beyond Beef and press it directly onto one side of each mini tortilla to form an even layer.
3. Place the meat-side down into the hot skillet. Immediately reduce heat to medium-low.
4. Cook for 4–5 minutes until the Beyond Beef is browned and cooked through.
5. Flip and cook the other side of the tortilla for 1–2 minutes until slightly crisp.
Assemble:
1. While warm, top each taco with a slice of vegan cheddar cheese so it melts.
2. Add shredded lettuce, diced onion, and pickle chips.
3. Drizzle with burger sauce.
4. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for that iconic finish.
BEYOND CHEESEBURGER SLIDERS
SERVINGS: 12 Sliders
PREP TIME: 10 Minutes
COOK TIME: 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb of Beyond Beef
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tbsp yellow mustard
Burger Sauce:
1/3 cup plant-based mayo
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
½ tbsp apple cider vinegar
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
2 tbsp pickles, diced finely
Sliders:
12 plant-based slider buns
1 onion, diced
6 slices plant-based cheese
1 tbsp plant-based butter, melted
Sesame seeds, to garnish
1 cup romaine lettuce, thinly chopped
12 pickle slices
PREPARATION:
1. Preheat the flat top to low heat. Allow a few moments for the flat top to be consistently heated.
2. Add diced onions to one side of the flat top and sautee to lightly brown. Add Beyond Beef to the flatop and season with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Cook per packaging instructions.
3. As the Beyond Beef and onion is cooking on the flat top, mix plant-based mayo, ketchup, yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and finely diced pickles in a small bowl to create the burger sauce.
4. Turn down to the lowest setting on one of the burners and add the bottom half of the slider to the flat top, open-faced. Add plant-based cheese slices, add a little bit of water around the buns, and cover to melt.
5. Add the Beyond Beef, grilled onions, and a sprinkle of plant-based cheese shreds. Add a little water around the sliders to steam and cover to melt. Remove the cover and add pickle slices to each slider. Cover the sliders with lettuce and drizzle with burger sauce. Place the top buns back on the sliders.
6. Coat the top of the slider buns with melted plant-based butter and generously coat with sesame seeds. Remove from heat and serve.
