We joined The Good Food Institute to bring the Beyond Burger to Capitol Hill!

The Beyond Burger unites people from across the aisle of both Congress and the grocery store!

Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to join our good friends at The Good Food Institute, on Capitol Hill, to help introduce members of Congress to the #FutureOfProtein! Both Republicans and Democrats, House Members and Senate Staff and more, arrived early to a packed room to get a taste of the future of food: The Beyond Burger!

Just like GFI, at Beyond Meat we believe that there are better alternatives to replace conventional animal agriculture. Our CEO, Ethan Brown, is determined to implement the same spirt of innovation that replaced landlines with smartphones, to our dinner plates. GFI's Executive Director Bruce Friedrich spoke at the event, "At GFI we are focused on using markets and food technology to solve the big problems of animal agriculture, and we're absolutely convinced that through companies like Beyond Meat and other plant-based companies we can produce food in a new and better way."

We were beyond honored that GFI chose to feature The Beyond Burger to help show policymakers how we can make meat more sustainable and strengthen our food system all at the same time. "[It's] incredible that there is now a solution to such global problems as food security and environmental protection that is directly in line with business growth and consumer demand," says Emily Byrd, Senior Communications Specialist at GFI. "We think it's critical that policymakers are aware of this game-changing opportunity to support positive innovation that unites people from every political perspective."
