The Economist Takes their Environmental Awareness Food Truck to D.C. - Free Beyond Burgers Included!

November 1, 2017

The Economist Is Taking their "Fast Forward Food" Truck from NYC to D.C.

This past summer, The Beyond Burger joined The Economist's newest extension of their global #FeedingTheFuture campaign—a "Fast Forward Food" truck in NYC. It was so successful that they are taking it to the streets of the nation's capital, D.C! The Feeding the Future campaign aims to educate people as they discover radical alternatives for a sustainable future of food.

How exactly do they do this?

The Economist has created a series of experiential activations, which seek to challenge consumers to stop and think about the world around them. Past initiatives, such as "Grounds for Change," sought to promote the reduction of food waste by highlighting little known uses for coffee grounds, like creating biodiesel fuel.

With our partnership, The Economist aims to highlight the alternative protein market and encourage people to step out of their comfort zone and consider the realities of providing protein for a swelling global population.

When will this take place?

Through November 12th, an Economist-branded food truck will be stationed at key locations around Washington D.C. offering free samples of The Beyond Burger for consumers to try. The Beyond Burger, which offers 20g of plant-based protein, no cholesterol and about half the saturated fat of a traditional hamburger, is changing how consumers think about the future of protein. Along with a free tasty burger, the pop-up will offer some 'food for thought' on the issues surrounding livestock agriculture.

Beyond Meat is thrilled to team up with The Economist, a brand that is also an advocate for change, to share The Beyond Burger as a delicious means to bring their content to life. If you happen to see this food truck on the streets of D.C., be sure to grab a free Beyond Burger, snap a pic and join the conversation with #BeyondBurger and #FeedingTheFuture like our NYC friends did below!
