GRILL – PRE-HEAT COVERED GRILL TO 500°F. LIGHTLY BRUSH SAUSAGES WITH OIL, GRILL FOR ABOUT 6 MINUTES, TURNING HALFWAY THROUGH.
GRIDDLE – SET NON-STICK GRIDDLE AT MAX TEMPERATURE (450-475°F), COOK FOR ABOUT 7 MINUTES, TURNING FREQUENTLY.

WHY A SAUSAGE FROM PLANTS THAT AIMS TO REPLICATE MEAT?
Our belief is that the best way to get people to eat less meat is by giving them what they love–in this case, a juicy delicious sausage – without so many of the health, sustainability, and animal welfare downside of a traditional animal-based sausage.
WHY DO YOU PLAN TO SELL IT IN THE MEAT SECTION?
In the same way it simply makes sense to sell plant-based milk (like almond and soy milk) in the section of the store where consumers currently go looking for milk, savvy retailers are realizing it’s helpful to their shoppers– and good for business!–to merchandise remarkable plant-based meats like The Beyond Burger® in the “meat set.” 70% of Americans say they’re looking for protein alternatives to traditional animal-based meat. We say, why not make it easy for them by offering expanded choices for different types of meat where they currently shop.
WHAT KIND OF PROTEIN DO YOU USE?
The primary source of protein in Beyond Sausage® comes from peas, along with fava and rice proteins. It’s soy, gluten, and GMO free.
WHAT ARE BEYOND SAUSAGE CASINGS MADE OF/ARE THEY VEGAN? IS IT EDIBLE?
Yes, the casing is edible. The casing is made of alginate, which is obtained from algae. It is a natural product and 100% plant-based. Alginate is used in some fresh turkey and seafood based sausages to deliver a similar pop and texture as animal-based casings.
HOW DO YOU REBUILD MEAT WITHOUT GENETICALLY MODIFYING ANYTHING?
This question gets back to the company’s basic thesis that meat’s core parts – amino acids, lipids, trace minerals, vitamins, and water – don’t have exclusive residence in the animal kingdom. We are not inventing new materials but matching the plant equivalent and assembling it in the architecture of meat. And the way we do that assembly is similar to the simple process used to make pasta – we mix our plant-based ingredients, compress the mixture, and then shape it into the final product (in this case, packed into a plant-based casing).

CAN I FREEZE THE BEYOND SAUSAGE®?
We do not recommend re-freezing the Beyond Sausage® as it affects the quality and taste of the sausage.
WHAT’S THE SHELF-LIFE?
If bought refrigerated, check the retailer-applied sticker “use-by date” on the front of the package. If bought frozen, refer to the “If purchased frozen, use by” date on the packaging. Once you decide to thaw, the Beyond Sausage® has a 7-day shelf life.
