WHAT’S BEYOND SAUSAGE®

Beyond Sausage is a plant-based sausage made to look, sizzle, and satisfy like pork. It has all the juicy, meaty deliciousness of a traditional sausage, but comes with the upsides of a plant-based meal. It also has no hormones, nitrites, nitrates, GMOs, soy, and gluten.

WHY A SAUSAGE FROM PLANTS THAT AIMS TO REPLICATE MEAT?

WHAT KIND OF PROTEIN DO YOU USE?

The primary source of protein in Beyond Sausage comes from peas and rice proteins. It has no soy, gluten, and GMOs.

WHAT ARE BEYOND SAUSAGE® CASINGS MADE OF/ARE THEY VEGAN? IS IT EDIBLE?

Yes, the casing is edible. The casing is made of alginate, which is obtained from algae. It is a natural product and 100% plant-based. Alginate is used in some fresh turkey and seafood based sausages to deliver a similar pop and texture as animal-based casings.

HOW DO YOU REBUILD MEAT WITHOUT GENETICALLY MODIFYING ANYTHING?

Protein, fat, minerals, carbohydrates, and water are the five building blocks of meat. We source these building blocks directly from plants. Using heating, cooling, and pressure, we create the fibrous texture of meat from plant-based proteins. Then, we mix in fats, minerals, fruit and vegetable-based colors, natural flavors, and carbohydrates to replicate the appearance, juiciness, and flavor of meat. The result? Uncompromisingly delicious plant-based breakfast sausage, no sacrifice required.

CAN I FREEZE THE BEYOND SAUSAGE®?

If products are purchased thawed, we do not recommend refreezing and suggest following the stickered best by date. If the product was purchased frozen, it can be stored in the freezer following the printed best by date.

HOW LONG CAN I KEEP BEYOND SAUSAGE®?

If bought refrigerated, check the retailer-applied sticker “use-by date” on the front of the package. If bought frozen, refer to the “If purchased frozen, use by” date on the packaging. Once you decide to thaw, Beyond Sausage has a 7-day shelf life.
